Tin Metal Sales from Arsari Tambang Reached 5,342 Tons

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTAArsari Tambang (AT) tin metal sales reached 5,342 tons throughout 2022.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arsari Tambang Aryo Djojohadikusumo said, Arsari Tambang oversees numbers of tin mining companies, including PT Mitra Stania Prima (MSP), PT Mitra Stania Kemingking (MSK), PT Mitra Stania Bemban (MSB) and PT AEGA Prima. 

He said tin production from PT MSP last year reached 3,359 tons, while PT MSK contributed 1,023 tons and PT Aega Prima as much as 960 tons. 

"PT Mitra Stania Bemban is preparing to complete the required documents for the preparation of the RKAB (Work Plan and Budget)," said Aryo on Tuesday (18/4/2023).

Aryo said that this year the company is optimistic that tin production will increase again, despite the threat of world economic recession. 

"Other subsidiaries are also continuing exploration programmes to increase resources and reserves for the continuation of Arsari Tambang's business to provide foreign exchange to the country," he said. 

It is known that Indonesia has long been known as one of the world's main tin producers. Most of the mineral resource reserves are located in the Bangka Belitung Islands. This area can be called as the largest tin area in Indonesia.

Next, in the Bangkinang area, Riau Province. In the Riau Islands, there is also a village that is the largest tin producer in Indonesia. The name of the village is Dabo which is located on Singkep Island.

The region is also an area that holds quite a lot of tin reserves. Citing Fitch Solution data, Indonesia is listed as the second largest tin mining producer in the world after China.

In 2021, Indonesia's tin commodity production amounted to 83,000 tonnes. This amount is equivalent to 26 per cent of the world's total mining production.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's tin reserves, according to United State Geological Survey (USGS) data, are estimated to reach 800,000 tonnes in 2021. This number also makes Indonesia the second largest tin reserve owner in the world after China. (*)
